Questions about managed WordPress hosting

What is managed WordPress hosting?

Hosting where someone looks after the server and WordPress for you: we set up your private server, secure it, update it, back it up and keep watch over it day and night, so you only deal with your content and your customers.

Managed vs unmanaged hosting

How is it different from shared hosting?

On shared hosting, many sites share one server and everything it has. With us, the CPU, memory and storage of your server are reserved for you alone, and traffic is unlimited.

How many sites can I run on one plan?

Each plan is a private server, so it runs as many sites as fit comfortably. We set each one up, free for standard sites, and tell you when it’s getting full and which plan to move to. Extra domains, at €2 a month each, are only for more addresses leading to a site you already have.

How much does it cost?

From €35 a month, excluding VAT, with maintenance, backups, security and support included. There’s no minimum term: if you leave, your service ends at the end of the month you’ve already paid for, we refund the months left of a year paid at once, less the free month, and we help you take everything with you, with a full copy of your site.

Pricing

Will the emails my site sends arrive?

Yes. The emails your site sends, like contact forms, order confirmations and password resets, go out through our mail relay on every plan, at no extra cost. We add the records that vouch for them ourselves, so WooCommerce receipts and contact forms don’t end up in spam.

Can I run a WooCommerce shop on it?

Yes. WooCommerce is set up for free, on every plan. A busier shop needs a bigger server: if you’re not sure which plan fits, ask us for a free website health check and we’ll recommend one.

Where are the servers?

Our servers are in EU data centres, so your data stays under EU privacy law. We also sign a GDPR data processing agreement with you.

Do you update WordPress and my plugins?

Yes. Security fixes for WordPress go in within hours, and for plugins and themes within a day of being published. Other updates go in after a fresh backup. If an update breaks something, we undo it from the latest backup.

WordPress maintenance

Can you move my WordPress site from my current host?

Yes, for free, on every plan, at a time that suits you. You keep your domain, and your email keeps working.

Who do I talk to when I need help?

Real people from our team in Europe and Japan, in English, Spanish or Catalan, Monday to Friday, – Central European time. At any other time an AI agent picks up your request straight away and solves common issues on its own, and our on-call team handles emergencies.
